Detroit Native Franchesca Lamarre is a conceptual artist practicing the replacement of power to the Afro-Black community. Much like her underground identity as Queen Complex, her work is a dialogue between black liberation and community uplifting. She is an Afro-Futurist, hoping to evoke present day thought and action. Using an union of body arts, illustration, photography, fashion, and film Franchesca creates an alternative visual ideology for the Afro-Black American. In her work she uses iconography, foreshadowing, and symbolism to celebrate black life and its voyage to liberation.
