-a visual photo story and film
In this new work Franchesca highlights millenials. With her iconograpahic signiture style she centers her lens on black bodies and their use of a more common nightly ritual the durag. The project consist currently of twenty two complexly colored portraits of black millenials currently living in detroit. The film includes interviews, poetry, rap narration, music production, and collage stop motion animation. Using color and light to acknowledge the diversity of skintones in afro-black people she hopes to share a narrative of sacred beautiful complexity.
